One morning my phone rang. I was addressed by social rehabilitator Sandra Ungura, from the Disability Habilitation Day Center. In their rehabilitation day center, there is a boy who is very fond of photography. He has a cerebral palsy since childbirth. A very inquisitive, clever, lively young person whose fate has prevented him from being “free” – to rule over his body.

On the day I went to the photo shoot, I was nervous. I did not know how it would turn out. Because this was a very special photo session, very emotional. The boy, watching me approaching, began to loudly scream and laugh – just the undisguised joy of emotion! Sandra helped him to get ready for the photo shoot the previous evening. With laughter and joyful playing around they had freed the whole afternoon preparing for his big day. New hairstyle and hair color, and he looked great.

He was startled at the start of the photo session. Sandra so professionally comforted and calmed him. In his worry, his muscle tone got worse. While Sandra was talking to him, I was watching both of them. It was true trust, friendship and respect to each other!

It seemed to me that I too managed to catch a glimpse of trust with them, because the nervousness suddenly disappeared. Now all three of us were laughing and joking around!

For the first time to continue the already written… at the moment… I have stopped. It’s hard to describe the emotions I felt during the session and after while driving home.

I promised to give the pictures the next day. I gave them the pictures in the night, because for the rest of the day, after the photo shoot, I could not think of anything else than the boy’s life and his fate.

For a moment, I thought of the values of life that given to each of us…

That day was a whole adventure for the boy!

There is only one little step to get to happiness – you just have to see and desire it very, very much!
